As you may know we had a DT call a few weeks ago and there were lots of talented entries so I would just like to thank each and every one of you for putting yourselves forward. It was great fun taking a look round all the different blogs and seeing all your crafty makes!
It has been a very difficult few weeks trying to whittle all the entries down but I finally managed to get down to a final 12. To makes things a little bit different I gave the final 12 a project to do to get a good idea of their versatility and creativity using a decoupage image and papers from the Jane Shasky "From the heart of the garden" 2 CD Rom set.
As part of the DT challenge we often get sent items to make a project with that is out of our comfort zone so I had to be sure that any new DT members will come up trumps with whatever they get sent. A lot of entries were very much only into stamping and colouring but we needed people to show creative flair using everything from stamps to CD's to decoupage sheets.
Can I just say that I was completely blown away by both the standard and creativeness of all 12 entries - they really have excelled themselves and I think you will agree that whittling them down further will not be easy.
As I said before in previous posts - we are NOT holding a vote but we do value your feedback on who you would like to see join our fab Design Team. I will keep the comments section open for the following week and we will base our decision on our all the feedback left.

What a showcase of talent! They are all amazing, but I do really like Tracy's card for a man - plenty of detail but not too fussy. Natalie's and Suzanne's would come very close behind.

ReplyDeleteI have to say, Wendy's creations however really hits the spot for me. Its interesting looking at, Its well embellished without being cluttered, very clean lines. Love the different shape of the card as well.
So WENDY gent my "vote", but WELL DONE to everyone to get this far xxx
They're all great but Wendys stands out for me - a bit of a different slant from the rest x
ReplyDeleteTough call but I like Wendy's and Suzanne's best.
ReplyDeleteWhat fab designs. Personally I like Tracy's the best as she has made a masculine card - so hard to do, but this is lovely.
ReplyDeleteWow - such a lot of fabulous projects! Really love Kate's gardener's gift idea...the personalisation on Tracy's male card...and the texture on Lorraine's...but really...they're all lovely! :0)

ReplyDeleteWhat a difficult job you have choosing a new member... I love Tracy's card, her decoupage is spot on and the layout is lovely and l like the personalisation too. I also love Kate's project and it shows her artistic skills off perfectly. Well done to all 12 x Susan x

Great choice for the 12 on the short listI , what an honor for them to be selected. Each one brings talent and their own style. I have worked along size some of these ladies on DT's current abd pass. Their creations are all wonderful. I especially like Laura, texture, 3D and the bow and pearls added to the card. Good luck everyone.
ReplyDeletefabulous creations from everyone !! I wouldn't like the job of choosing between them, I definitely don't envy you that task !! :-)
ReplyDeleteGood Luck to all :-)
luv
Lols x x x
Gorgeous work from everyone. I choose Kate as I follow her blog and can count on inspiration on every post.
ReplyDeleteShe turns out fabulous cards and can always be counted on.
I love the details in her submission and think it speaks volumes on her talent and versatility
Back for another peep. I came across Lorraine's card in blog land and wanted to come and say how beautiful it was. I think all 12 would make a great design team.
ReplyDeleteWOW some amazing entries and such a difficult decision but I have to go with Wendy, Laura and Suzanne. Good luck as they all deserve a shot. Hugs, Claire x
ReplyDeleteSome gorgeous entries and good luck to all of you. My top three are: Wendy, Lorraine and Natalie x
ReplyDeleteI do not envy your decision at all these are all stunning! I absolutely love Laura's LO, I think Louise's colours and embellies are so pretty, Natalie's idea is so inspirational and Wendy's card has fab layering and depth, good luck with your choice!
ReplyDeleteHugs Rebekah xx
So many very talented ladies and their creations are all stunning.
ReplyDeleteMy top three would be Tracy, kate and Wendy.
If it was my choice I would have every one of these talented ladies on my DT on a rota system so all their lovely work could be seen.
What a lovely card Wendy! I love the edging you're so talented! Keep up the good work and all the best chick!
ReplyDeleteAll entries are gorgeous...but I love Laura's and Wendy's projects most!
ReplyDeletexxx Margreet
Wow, everyone is so very creative! Beautiful work! So hard to pick, but I think I'd have to go with Tracy's because I love how she personalized it.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I never think of doing that, although I have some really cute alphabet stamps. She really inspired me to leave my favorite alphabet stamp out on my stamp desk so I could see it in front of me when I make a card for a specific person.
Good luck with choosing, glad I dont have to, they are all fabulous. I think my fave's are Wendy and Suzanne's cards/projects, it may just be the brighter colours and pretty diecuts that attract me. Good luck to them all.
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous work everybody has submitted and it's going to be hard to choose but I think Kate's work (Downrightcrafty) is amazing. If you check her blog you will see what a high standard all her work is and the inspiration she gives is second to none. Good luck to everyone.
ReplyDeleteKaren x
Congrats to the top 12. Beautiful work by everyone but if I had to choose it would be Wendy, Kate and Laura. Good luck ladies. xx
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to all 12 who made the cut so far, you each deserve a chance.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I think its a shame that there is only one of Lexies card, I feel sure that there is a lot more there than meets the eye. Because of that little fact, and having a good scan at the enlarged images, I would go for Lexie, first, then Kate, and finally Fi.
Reasons, understatement of all three pieces, the more you look the more you see, the images are allowed to talk to you in their own right, not over powered by decoration, as in the presentation doesn't overwhelm the images that you wanted them to use. They are effectively presented, allowing the artwork to speak for itself, those three have it for me, sorry everyone else, xx
I have e-mailed Lexi and asked her to send me extra photos which have now been added to the post! Thanks for the feedback! :D x
DeleteFabulous cards, what a difficult choice! Wendy, Laura and Suzanne's cards stand out for me though!
ReplyDeleteHelen x
wow, what a toughie....if I had to pick I would go for Suzanne, Wendy and Kate, but that said, all of these ladies are so talented and would showpiece the goods that they are using to such a high standard, it would be a shame to let them go.......maybe you could have an A team and a B team?
ReplyDeleteOh wow what a hard decission to make I am loving Kims easel card with its extra detail of the fence etc and also Kates creation
ReplyDeleteSuch a difficult decision. Fabulous creations ladies, some real inspiration can be found here. I would have to have Kate, Wendy and Lorraine as my top 3 although it is a very close thing.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you all and I'm sure whoever wins will be a great asset to the team.
Hugs Sally xxx
WOW I wouldn't like your job of whittling them down - well done everyone!
ReplyDeleteI love Tracy's 'Grandad' card and Wendy and Laura's both popped off the page for me!
Hugs Laurie xx
OMG All the DT projects are stunning!
ReplyDeleteI really like the hidden part in Natalie's box card!
Shell~Alaska♥
Gosh what a difficult choice to make, all so deserve a place on the DT.
ReplyDeleteMy choice would be Kim, Suzanne and Laura.
Jo x
Wow, the cards are all stunning however I do have 1 concern, should the cards not have been made using all 3 papers given & not just with 1 or 2 of them, forgive me if I am wrong.
ReplyDeleteLexie's card stands out for me,she has made the 3 papers all work together so well, I do feel the photo shown does not do it justice though, it is very difficult to see the full dimensional effect from that angle. It's just a pity the card can't be seen in the flesh so to speak.
As long as the decoupage image was used it was up to the individuals whether they used 1, 2 or all 3 papers in their design. Hope this helps! x
DeleteCongrats to all 12 shortlisted, Wendy, Laura and Suzanne all the way for me but such a hard decision.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck ladies x
Love all these Garden cards! Lexie's book design stands out to me and is my favorite!
ReplyDeletemy top two are Lexie and Kate, both have used imagination in creating more than just cards, all the cards are lovely but the two i mention seems to have gone that extra mile. it is difficult to design a card when you are limited to the papers ect that are given you. Lexie's and Kates offerings use good use of dimention and colour, especial like the way Lexie's has allowed the papers and decourpage to speak for itself and has not over shadowed the products. Kates and Lexie's cards are both rather clever. and would think that is rather necessary in a DT member. jane
ReplyDeleteLove every single card. All are stunning. But I do like the originality of Kate's and love the use of the dies on Kim's. Good luck to you all. Hugs Nina
ReplyDeleteThey are all beautiful but I love Lorraine's card as it's such a pretty but restful design.
ReplyDeleteThat's a hard one - they are all so different given that they started from the same thing - I would find it hard to pick just one but my favourite is Suzannes.
ReplyDeletegood luck to you all (wish I could make cards as brilliantly).
abby
OMG How on earth do you choose, they are all so very talented , I do love Kim's creation and she has so many gorgeous things on her blog, but they all are fabulous...good luck ladies....you all deserve the spots.xxx
ReplyDeleteArent these all AMAZING! :) Wow!
ReplyDeleteI know I will be thrilled with whoever gets on the team and would be such a pleasure to work with everyone of you! :)
Stunning cards, all beautifully crafted, embellished and designed!
Paula - you should try Mr Random!! LOL!!
hugs
xxalisonxx
I enjoyed following the links and looking at all the finalists' blogs, amazing work but if pressed to say then my favourite is Kate (Downrightcrafty)
ReplyDeleteI loved Lexie's card. I understand she used all the elements provided and this can be so difficult, and requires real creativity to achieve a great result, as she has. The book layout, and witty verse take it to the next level. I also like Kates for similar reasons and her entry is almost a gift in it's own right.
ReplyDeleteBoth Lexie and Kate demonstrate the great inspirational qualities I look for in a design team member.
All the cards are gorgeous - it's going to be a difficult decision. My favourites are Lorraine, Laura and Natalie.
ReplyDelete
