Hope you've all had a good weekend and that you're ready for the weekend ahead.
Today the lovely Sue has done a tutorial for you so...over to Sue!xx
Hello everyone, it Sue here with my first attempt at a tutorial so please be gentle with me!
I decided to show you something that I really enjoy making - a Centre Stepper Card.
The first thing to note is to start with a good quality and fairly thick card. Joanna Sheen's 300gsm Elegance Satin Card is perfect for this.
I start with a piece of card measuring 17.5 cm by 26 cm.
Then I mark my cut and score lines really lightly with pencil so it is easy to rub out.
I have shown the measurements that I use most often but I do vary these depending on the size of the image.
I like to use my Hougie Board - available from Joanna Sheen here, to make my score lines. This ensures that the measurements are accurate which is quite important if you don't want your card it be wonky !
Once this is done gently ease into shape as shown and sharpen the creases with your bone folder
Then you can have fun decorating.
I love how you don't really need to add too many embellishments, the design ensures that your image will take centre stage.
Here is my finished card.
I used the following products available from Joanna Sheen:
Thank you for taking the time to stop and look at my tutorial today. If you have never made one of these cards before I hope I have shown you how easy they are and maybe inspired you to have a go!
Bye for now
Thank you for the fab tutorial Sue. Absolutely love that card. I'm rubbish at stepper cards...I can make the base easily enough, but no matter what I do they always look rubbish! Think I'll need to get Sue to give me some lessons!
A little bit of a heads up for you... Joanna Sheen is going to be on Create & Craft TV on Tuesday at 10 am, 2 pm and 8 pm...and she's going to be showing something very, very special!!!! So set your recorders or skive of work (I didn't say that!) so you don't miss the shows!
Take care everyone & happy crafting!
